Next we are going to talk about how to get non newspaper insert coupons. I used to store these in a big bill size envelope but now I am using a big gallon size Zip Loc bag. If you start to get a lot of them you can always later get a small folding organizer later and divide them into categories. I just want to mention all of these coupons so you can start working on collecting them.
How can you use these loose coupons?
Coupon blogs do not tell you deals on these coupons because not everyone can get them, they can go fast, and can often be regional. After I show you how to find coupon deals on blogs, you will then look through your loose coupons before reading weekly coupon deals and wait for a deal on that product. Blogs will tell you when they are on sale, when rebate apps have offers, when you can get money back to use on your next transaction deal. Then you get your loose coupon out and check the details on coupon to see if you can improve a deal on a coupon blog with a better coupon.
Lots of ways to get more free coupons:
Requesting free samples a great way to get free high values coupons. This is a good task to do when you are broke and/or waiting for pay day. Google with the quotations “freebies” or look for coupon websites that have Free or Freebie sections. The good Freebies go fast so check at least one Freebie site a day . When you get your free samples look for the coupons in the package. Click here to see freebie links to freebie websites and more info on freebies.
Finding Coupons in stores
Once a month you should walk down the isles of your stores looking for coupons especially if your region gets bad insert coupons. I tend to find more of these in grocery stores. To save on gas, search your grocery store before you shop. Do you often drive by a store to or from work or an errand? You could also quickly stop in a store just to search for coupons.
Look for Tear pad coupons usually in the isles buy the product on the coupons. Usally the Tear Pads will be offered when the product is normal price. If it is not on sale save them with your “loose coupons” for a sale.
➡Free Taste Samples
Stop, ask, and look for coupons when stores have free samples to taste. If they give you only one ask for more. It does not hurt to ask!
A blinkie machine is a small box with coupons that has a motion sensor to contol and dispense coupons. It is designed to stop people from taking all of the coupons. If you want more than one coupon from a blinkie step away from it and wait. Then come back. Some times I will look and shop in that isle then come back. Often, customers might look at a blinkie and set unwanted blinkie down on or near the machine, too. Watch the expiration dates on blinkie coupons because they usually expire soon.
Peelie coupons are coupons that the manufactors stick to the outside of products. Usually they are for the same product they are selling. But sometimes they could be for another products or products the company makes. For example, one time I found Children Advil medicine peelie coupons on the adult version. You do not have to buy the adult one to use the peelie. Another time I found peelie coupons on tissue (forgot the brand) and inside was several coupons one for the tissues plus two other coupons for other products!
Hang Tag coupons
These coupons are just like peelie coupons but are attached with string or cardboard over the top of an item. These coupons are also great because they usually have long expiration dates, too. I often find these on sunscreen, liquor, wine, lotion or bottled items. But watch out some times the manufactor will tease you with one and you look and no coupon just info (like a recipe) on it.
Grand Openings and Reopenings
If you notice a Grand Opening a Reopening coming soon ask when it starts! If you go the first day it starts you may get lots of coupons and deals. They sometimes also offer gift cards and/or gifts to the first so many people in the store. Watch your local ads or mail for info. Example, my Kroger remodeled the store and reorgainized lots of sections and isles. It took months. They sent me a post card with a free coupon for milk on it. I went on the grand opening and also got a $10 Kroger Gift card, free shopping bag, coupon for free BBQ sauce, and got more coupons at some of the taste this sample booths. They also had a page of sales just for that location that was better than the other locations to attract people to the store. So, I stacked the Grand Opening Sales with the gift card they gave me with regular store coupons (like a $3/$10 in the meat dept. coupon they mail to us alot).
Lots of coupon deals come from printable coupons. I only print if it is a great deal to save on ink cartridges. The only down side is the best deals can reach the print limit and then no one else can print that particular coupon. To avoid this I start looking for coupons to print on Thursday and Friday every week. I will show you later how to find deal previews. I like to print alot of the freebie and money maker deal coupons before Krazy Coupon Lady announces it on Saturday. Then on Saturday I print the ones Krazy Coupon mentions that other bloggers missed.
I do print the coupons from the coupon blogs that are telling me about the deal. Often they will have it preclipped for you so you spend less time looking for the coupon. It also will help your favorite blogger to keep the site up because they might get a tiny commision (depends on the coupon) if you print it from their link. Read more about printing Coupons here.
If you have a smartphone or tablet you can print 2 coupons per device if your wireless printer has an app. After you get the app for your printer follow the directions to connect your phone/tablet to your printer. I will admit that the first time I tried I could not get it to work. I finally got it to work by making sure my phone was connected to the same wireless network as the printer. I also had to turn the power on the printer for the app to find my printer. Note: not all wireless printers will work. If your wireless printer does not work wait till a coupon blogger mentions on good deal on a printer that works with printing coupons from phones and tablets.
Sign up for stores email and mailing list. I created a separate email for my coupon emails. Look for and Sign up for Store’s Reward programs. For Example, CVS has a CVS Beauty Rewards Program. They email you great printable store coupons. I have gotten a Percentage of your total purchase coupons from CVS(sometimes every week), Have gotten printable coupons emails for free lotion samples, and I also got a $3 off coupon for anything in the store $3 or more on my Birthday! The Coupon Blogs will tell you all about each stores coupons when you read about the how to shop at ___ store info and when they report weekly coupon deals.
When looking for your weekly deals be sure to also read the info the blog talks about before the deals. Some websites like KCL (www.thekrazycouponlady.com) have a different How to Shop in your Store Info for you to read. Go to the KCL website, click stores, click the store you want to coupon at, on your computer click the black links on the top that has info like “Walmart 101” . If you are on a cell you will have to google “Krazy Coupon Lady Walmart 101” to see this great info. Click here to see other Coupon Blogs I like. We will already talked about Store Coupon Policies in the –Couponing 101 Tip 2 Store Polices . Click here if you did not Read it or Need More Store Policies Info.
Looking for coupons at Dr. appointments
Finding Coupons and asking for coupons at your Appointments is the best way to get medicine coupons with long expiration dates and high value amounts. For example, for years every time I took my kids to the doctor’s office I would always grab some Children’s $2.00/1 Advil coupons sitting on the counter when you check out. The coupon was way more money off than the printable coupons or Newspaper Inserts coupons. When the coupon blogs mention a low price for Advil with a worse coupon, BOOM I wip out the better coupon and shop. I have never found a better coupon than the Coupons the Drug Companies leave in the Doctor’s office. Now, I can no longer find the good Advil coupons but have recently been finding the coupons in the picture above. I also recently saw formula coupons but did not take them.
I also asked at America’s Best if they had any contact coupons and they lady gave me a flyer that says how to insert soft contacts with a coupon on it. If you do not see coupons ask them. Sometimes they may save them for people who really need them or they just forget to pass them out.
Often you will get great coupons after you buy something save All of them! Most of them are store coupons. Keep them in the back of your store envelopes! We will talk about those soon.
Contacting Companies asking for coupons
Update: I stopped writing companies asking for coupons because of cost of stamps. But the same technique can be done through emails or phone calls to companies for free. Mention that you like their product and was looking for coupons. Do not mention or say negative things about other companies. A lot of products are owned by the same company. For example, If you wrote to Pampers asking for Coupons and you mentioned you use or do not like Loves Diapers. Loves and Pampers are owned by the same company and you would be insulting them. Plus, if you hate the competition the company has no need to send coupons for your business.
Looking for customer service info on coupon sites where you print coupons.
Often you can email and ask for coupons if you are having problems using the coupons. Like:
– You have an old computer that does not allow you to print some coupons. I have problems printing alot of one of my labtops.
– Their coupons from their site are not scanning at your store
– Once I said I switched internet providers and my printer is not working now. I could not figure out how to give the printer the new wi-fi info.
– Do not say you have no printer. They will help you more if they think you will be a regular vistor to their site in the future.
– Do not forget your name and address in the request!
– Do not send to many requests. Or use the same excuse reason each time. I actually like to request them when I am really having a problem printing a certain coupon or a problem redeeming the coupon in a store.
List of brands and phone #s to call to ask for coupons
I also found a list of company numbers on Face Book where you can call to request coupons. I saved it on my phone and recently found it in my screenshots. I remember hearing these companies have a good history of mailing coupons. If they say they do not have any coupons try again months later. I do not remember who shared this on Face Book but can not wait to call Ken’s and ask why my region coupons are always $?/2 instead of $?/1 that other regions always get! Hope it works! Now if I can just find time to call!

Baby Registry Coupons
If you are pregnant or have a newborn go sign up for more than one baby registry. I had no intention of having a baby shower for my second baby. But still went and signed up for more than one baby registry. Why? They were giving me free samples and great baby coupons. It also signed me up for mailing lists from the Baby Stores that send me Store Baby Coupons. Look for Babies R Us, Baby Depot (inside Burlington Coat Store), and sorry I forgot the name of the other Baby Store. Target is also a good place to register to try to get extra coupons. In the past I have heard of couponers getting good coupons when registering. And sometimes people who print out your registry might get coupons, too.
If you are collecting baby coupons you may want to have a separate envelope for Baby Coupons because it is so easy to get tons of them. Signing up for free samples of formulas will give you coupons and put you on mailing lists for coupons. Look for free samples on the Formula Websites or Google Baby Freebies. Baby Coupons in the Free Baby Magazines will give you great coupons. Look for these free Magazines at your OB office by the check out counter. Inside the magazines will be info how to get the free Magazine delivered to your house. I forgot the name of the magazine.
Twins or Triplets Coupons
If you have Twins or Triplets mention this when you contact companies for free samples and coupons. Tell them you are having a hard time buying all the baby supplies. A lot of Baby Companies who make Baby Stuff will give you more, better, or help you more with coupons or samples if you have twins or triplets. They know you will also be spending more than most parents on baby items and would love for you to be brand specific to their brand.
